RSG Top Tip: When the lights come down after Christmas things can feel a little bleak, but it’s so easy to make your home feel better. Our top tip is to not take the fairy lights down. Fairy lights aren’t just for Christmas and look fabulous all year round. Drape fairy lights around your mirrors and artwork or, alternatively pin them to your wall above your bed or sofa. Let's face it, sticking to your new year's resolutions can be tricky.

Especially in the first few weeks of January when it's cold outside and all you want to do is snuggle up on the sofa. But, we are here to help! In fact, no matter what your resolution is, it'sd actually quite simple to make and achieve your goals if you know how.

The answer?! To stick to your New Years Resolution you gotta be S.M.A.R.T! So, here are 5 Easy Ways to keep your resolutions in 2019.

No.1. It's gotta be Specific

"New Years Resolution: drink less, oh and quit smoking! And, keep New Years Resolution!" - Bridget Jones.

A resolution that is a little more specific than this is the way to succeed. We recommend taking some time out to sit down and think about exactly what you want to achieve. For example, "I want to declutter my house" may be too vague. Go for, "I want to rid my home of anything that I do not love or that is not useful".

No.2. It's gotta be Measurable

It's always nice to reach little milestones on the way. Set little goals along the way and signpost them so that when you achieve them you can celebrate it. So, for example, once you've cleared out an entire room of the things that you no longer need or love then it's time to celebrate! Celebrate with a glass of wine, a mini online shopping spree or a candlelit bath! Applauding the mini-goals will keep you motivated and inspired, plus it's important to treat yourself every now and then.

No.3. It's gotta be Attainable

Yeah, so maybe decluttering your entire house in a day might not be realistic. So, break it down a little. There's no reason to add extra stress to your life.

No.4. It's gotta be Relevant

A really great New Years Resolution that you will want to keep is a resolution that contributes to a greater goal or your happiness and wellbeing, long-term. So, for example, decluttering your home is a great goal if you to create a happy home for you and your family.

No.5. It's gotta be Time Specific

Set a deadline. Choose a (realistic) date that you want to achieve the goal by and mark it down in your calendar, on your phone and tell your friends and family to keep yourself accountable.

It's really as simple as that!

So, for ideas about our Interior Resolutions for 2019, keep a look out for our blog which will be published on Friday!
