Maren Ingeborg Gråbloms is the epitome of cool. Living in a vibrant pink house with her husband in Norway, Maren Ingeborg's extraordinary home serves as a base for her recording studio and production company. Maren Ingeborg started her blog, Villa Betula, in January 2016 and it has been a roaring success so far. Her uber cool blog is filled with dark hues and interiors to completely lust after.

We're totally obsessed with her Instagram and were thrilled when Maren Ingeborg agreed to take 10 mins out to talk to us all about her interior inspiration, Norwegian home and her favourite RSG pieces...

1. You have an incredible home, blog and Instagram page. Tell us a little about yourself?
Thanks! Well, I'm Norwegian and I live in a hundred-year-old pink house with my husband. We spend almost all our time here – making documentaries (and short films) and transforming the house over to “the dark side” on a shoestring budget. I've also started to paint on canvas, which I sell plotted on high-quality canvas. I want to do it more and will expand my “art store” on the blog. Didn't think I would sell any, but I do, which is great fun! But what's most important to me is probably our music, Gråblomst. Just finished mixing our second album in Bristol, and I'm really proud of this production if I can say so?! Life sounds so good, but I can't avoid saying something about the downside too, which is struggling to handle my mental illness. Most days that's my biggest and hardest job to do, but my goal is to make these days fewer and fewer.

2. Your blog started about a year ago, what inspired you to start blogging?
I searched for something which could give me some peace of mind and flow. I could hardly remember the feeling of flow. A bonus would be to master something new, something without rules or expectations. During this year I think I've managed to create a signature to my photos, and I've also realised that I like to write more personal and just ramble on really.

3. Tell us about a project that you're working on right now.
The main project in life now is to finish Gråblomst's second album. But very soon we will also finish the outhouse which has turned into our recording studio and working space. I want to make it the most fab room I've ever transformed!

4. Which room in your home is your favourite and why?
Right now it's “the green room” where there's big art on the walls and it's the room where we eat and plays yatzy. The dog and cat are here a lot, and I sit here blogging and edit photos too. I guess it's because there's a fireplace in here which we all love!

5. Is there any piece or artefact in your home that has a sentimental meaning to you? If so what is it?
Most of my things I really adore and almost every bit of it comes from flea markets and thrift shops and has some meaning to me. But I can't point out one piece with a more sentimental meaning, other than maybe my first painting which constantly reminds me that I can turn the painful and melancholic inside of me into something more beautiful.

6. For someone who is thinking of redecorating their home, what top tip would you give them?
Ask yourself what you really want and makes you feel good. Why have a living room with a television if you're dreaming of having an atelier and spend time painting? Swap the TV for the easel I say! Never ask anybody else or follow trends, just do your thing. And add lots of greenery, lamps and mirrors to that!

7. What interior designers or bloggers inspire you? Name 3 and explain why?
Abigail Ahern – She follows her guts and do it her own way and lead me on to the “dark path”, forever grateful.
Dimore Studio - The colours, dark and lighting. Keeps my jaw dropping.
Roman & Williams – Love the mood and atmosphere in what they do.

8. What current trend are you loving?
I'm not that into trends, but I've realised velvet is the “coolest thing on the planet”. And I agree.

9. What does 2017 have in store for you?
I feel 2017 is an embracing year for me – I feel embraced by the time which comes to me, and I embrace my heart and feelings better than ever. I'm going to do less of what I don't like and more of what I want, which means more painting, more music and more photographing. I want to travel and do gigs, even though it scares me. If you love something it will work.

10. Finally, name 3 RSG products that you love!

Palm tree floor lamp (I don't know for how much longer I can live without one!), extra large Ostrich Canvas by Angela Rossi and the Bronze Effect Horse Head Coffee Table, and I can't help mention a fourth: the faux vertical garden, oh my!
