We have found 2 great ideas to inspire your own DIY project.
#1 Boho Beautiful
Idea #1 is an old favourite of ours that we had the pleasure of photographing last Summer in person. Dee Campling is the owner of our favourite boho interiors Instagram Account and her outside space is one that we regularly swoon over (you can see our full garden takeover post from last Summer here).
During our shoot, Dee showed us how to paint a beautifully subtle stencil on her fresh white concrete floor. The results were so beautiful! Using the Holy Mandala stencil for wall and floors along with our online stencil guide, Dee opted for a heavenly soft grey paint to create an Ibizian inspired oasis.

#2 Modern Tile Design
Idea #2 comes from Dabito, the founder and creative director of online design resource and creative studio; Old Brand New. We stumbled upon Dabito's incredible painted concrete patio on Instagram and have been obsessed with the idea ever since.
Using stencils to update boring or old patios is such a cheap and cost-effective way to transform your outside space. Dabito has used an ultra-modern geometric tile design to bring his outdoor space bang up-to-date.
"after six months, the white concrete floors got really grimy. I wanted to have the jute rugs out all year round but with all the rain we get here in New Orleans, that wasn't an option. So I decided to Dab-It-Yourself by painting floor tiles using a stencil." - Dabito
All you need for this project is patience (a lot of it! Depending on the size of your patio), good quality paint, sealant, and a little vision for how fabulous it's going to look. The project took Dabito two full days to complete the 300 sqft patio space and saved him close to $5000!
"You'll notice that my edges and lines aren't super straight or crisp. The concrete floor was old, porous and bumpy so it was hard to achieve that. Spacing was off here and there but I wasn't trying to be super perfectionistic about it. Honestly, you can't really tell. Embrace those happy flaws! It's very — how do you say — wabi-sabi? Lol. I love it and it totally transforms the space." - Dabito
