Christmas

Christmas, but make it Rockett St George.

Our New Christmas collection brings together everything we love about the festive season: warmth, nostalgia, personality and just the right amount of main character energy.

Think classic Christmas with a liberal sprinkling of rock 'n' roll chic.

From Christmas garlands and bows to our iconic Christmas tree decorations, this is festive styling with sass.

Layer rich reds with metallics, mix traditional details with the unexpected and embrace the joy of decorating your home your way.

But Where Did The Christmas Tree Come From?

So just how did an evergreen tree (most commonly a spruce or fir) become the iconic 'Christmas' tree - and who came up with the idea of decorating it?

Well, long before the tree itself became the star of the festive show, it was tradition for communities to bring evergreen branches or greenery into their homes to symbolise the continuation and renewal of life, which was important during the darkest days of winter.

It wasn't until the 16th century that German-speaking European countries, which were mostly Christian, began the tradition of creating a 'paradise tree' in their homes.

These would 'go up' on the on 24th December, and were evergreen branches hung with apples to represent Adam and Eve, and the Garden of Eden.

Later, candles were added to represent the light of Jesus.

It wasn't until the Victorian era that the Christmas tree as we recognise it today became popular, however.

Prince Albert, the German-born husband of Queen Victoria, popularised the tradition of introducing evergreen branches into the home at Christmastime.

These were then hung with small gifts, sweets and candles, attached by ribbons and paper chains.

Newspapers photographed the Royal Family at Christmas, alongside the beautifully decorated tree, and the concept of the modern Christmas tree was born.

But what about the baubles?

Well, one theory is that back when Christmas trees were simple branches, a local glassblower in a small German village couldn't afford fresh apples to hang on his branch.

Instead, he made one from glass.

Demand grew, and by the late 1800s, German workshops were exporting glass decorations to the United States and other overseas markets.

The rest, as they say, is history...

Christmas Garlands & Bows

And now we've had a little trip down memory lane, let's get back to business!

A traditional way to set the perfect festive scene is to start with classic paper Christmas garlands.

We've gone full festive with our red and green options, but this year, have also added a little pink number to our line-up.

Pink and green is one of our favourite colour combinations for the dreamily sophisticated touch it adds to any space, and it's perfect for adding something a little bit different at Christmas.

Alternatively, go for glamour with scalloped metallic designs in rock n' roll black and gold.

Bold and beautiful, they catch the light in the most picture-perfect way.

Then layer in our fabulous red velvet and leopard print Christmas bows.

Also available in gold, they're playful and festive, and add an instant dose of seasonal drama to your staircase or a doorway.

Bring On The Christmas Icons

Bring a little theatre to your Christmas tableaux with our collection of Christmas icons.

Our Santa Butlers (choose pink or gold – both are fabulous), traditional Nutcrackers and Gold Christmas Reindeer dial the festive cheer up to a solid 11.

These are the seasonal sidekicks that make each get-together that little bit more special. Quirky and unique,  they’re the epitome of Christmas done your way.

Imagine Christmas served by Santa - literally!

This charmer offers up mince pies or cheese and crackers in a way that's simply irresistible, and all with a huge smile on his face.

Christmas Tree Decorations

Make your tree a celebration of personality with our collection of Christmas tree decorations.

Did someone say rock star energy?

Because this crew brings it all, and more. We love that Mick Jagger, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat get to share a festive twig, and provide inspiration for your Christmas Day playlist.

Yes - you can deviate from Michael Bublé if you want to this Christmas.

Your home, your rules, remember?!

There's also beaded beauties just waiting to be discovered, retro-inspired Christmas baubles that take us straight back to the 1980s, and some rudeness (this is Rockett St George, after all).

Together, they create a tree that feels intentional (because this isn't a collection that comes together by accident!)

Ultimately, it feels bold, beautiful and unmistakably you.

Christmas decorating isn't about following rules.

It's about creating a home that feels magical, welcoming and full of charm.

It’s Christmas, the Rockett St George way.
