Rustic Garden Furniture Ideas

Whether you like Industrial, Parisian, or Country Cottage styles, you can bring rustic garden furniture into your space. You may already have some old furniture that is ready for a makeover or you need to invest in some key pieces to get the look. Follow our Rustic Garden Furniture Ideas guide and get inspired.

Tables & Chairs

With an array of garden furniture available to us all, it can be difficult to make a decision. The first thing to do in consider your personal style. Look at the rest of your home and decide if the garden will be an extension of this. Treat the garden as another room.

A great style to adopt in the garden is a rustic look, we love it! It will weather better than something more modern and also gives you the opportunity to hunt around for vintage and second-hand items. You can also buy new and find gorgeous tables & chairs like our Black Metal Garden Table & Chair Set. If wood is your material of choice, then look at making a coffee table from old pallets, combined with an old wooden bench for a super rustic feel.

You can also bring out any old unwanted furniture like an old dining table, chest of drawers, or shelving unit. Paint them up and dress them with plants. With the rustic look the more recycling you can do the better.

Ladder Planters

A lovely way to bring a rustic feel into your garden is by using an old wooden ladder to form the base for a planter. You can use the ladder in many different ways, whether you are adding planks of wood to create ledges to put plant pots on, or maybe you want to attach baskets to the ladder rungs.

If you don't have an old ladder hiding away, get online, and look for something with age and charm. Use metal pots & baskets for a more Industrial look. And terracotta plant pots combined with lots of colour for a Mediterranean feel.

Mirrors

A great way to bring some rustic charm into your garden is with a mirror and in particular an arched or crittall style mirror. We love a crittall mirror as it will not only reflect your garden, making it feel bigger, but the detail of the crittall style will create a focal point for you and your guests. Check out our Crittall-Style Indoor/Outdoor Mirror With Sloping Top with its dark distressed finish. This style of mirror is perfect for the garden. Its window-like design will compliment the outside of your home and the dark metal frame will bring a timeless feel.

Accessories

When creating a rustic garden, it is important to think about the detail. Once you have your furniture decided on it all comes down to the small finishing touches. Hanging baskets for plants, shelving, ornaments, and soft furnishings. Adds some wooden shelving and fill with plants and vintage bottles for a rustic country feel. Place ornaments around the garden and on tabletops. Create style spots as you would indoors. Use large metal planters in groups which will then be softened by plants. Over time these will weather and enhance the rustic look.
