Trending Paint Colours
We have called upon interior design experts Kate Watson-Smyth, Sophie Robinson, The Frugality, Grillo Designs and our very own co-founder, Jane Rockett, to forecast what paint colours will be trending in 2019.
Our fabulous Interior Design experts have chosen clay pinks, deep dark greens, midnight blues, earthy rust tones and the re-emergence of magnolia wall colours (can you believe it?!) shaken up into a lovely honey beige colour as this year's top paint colours. A beautiful selection of colour choices, one identifiable theme that we have noticed is that all these shades have a warming or muted pastel undertone that make us feel comfortable, relaxed and, most importantly happy.
So, keep on reading to see the top paint colours for 2019 that will be coming to a paintbrush near you!
NO.1. CLAY PINK WALL PAINTS

Pink Wall Paint or pink feature wall paint choices have grown exponentially in popularity in recent years. 2019 will be no different. In particular, warmer pink hues with clay undertones are really having a moment in both fashion and interiors and, for good reason! The colour is almost cocooning and is an ideal choice for spaces in the home where you like to relax and recharge, such as the living room or bedroom.
"Pink is not going anywhere is 2019, indeed I think it will begin to be embraced as a neutral as it’s the perfect backdrop to other palettes. In terms of the tones of pink that will be fashionable, the blush pinks are getting even warmer, so more like peach or putty in hue."

NO.2. MAGNOLIA WALL PAINT REINVENTED

Magnolia reminds us of some ghastly 80s throwback. But, in the last year, we have seen the reemergence of Magnolia paint colours in a reimagined way, featuring more of a mustard yellow undertone. We would attribute this mainly to the emergence of Dulux Colour Of The Year 2019 - Spiced Honey. Reminding us of sunset glows the warming beige paint colour has the benefit of being an excellent neutral colour choice for the home, without feeling cold and impersonal. And, if Magnolia Wall Paint Colours are still not for you, then consider a Chalk White Wall Paint Colour which will have a similar effect on the home.
"For me, Warm Honey is the new neutral of 2019. And, quite the step up from other similar derivatives like magnolia (a colour, us renters love to hate). Its gorgeous, uplifting, calming and I like the fact that it can either be the feature or play the supporting feature in a room."

NO.3 DARK GREEN WALL COLOURS
Green is one of those colours that will always surpass any interior design trend. It is a timeless colour that we would consider to be a modern-day neutral, and thus, perfect for every decor scheme. For 2019, we are likely to see a lot more of greens in dark shades, such as dark forest or hunter greens.
"We saw hints of dark green bubbling away from last year but I really think this year it will be all over our social media feeds. Erica Davies has just painted her study in a gorgeous shade, even the ceiling! And, I am about to paint our fireplace a rich dark, earthy green - think it will really lift our otherwise quite stark, white living room."

NO.4. EARTHY & RUST WALL PAINTS
Earthy terracottas, burnt oranges, beautiful brown paints and rust hues have been rising in popularity since the end of last year. These colours will continue to trend in 2019. Rust Paint Colours or Earthy Paints are great for creating a sense of history and timeless quality in the home.
"It's hard to pick one colour that will dominate this year but having just returned from Maison et Objet in Paris I think it's a sure bet that earthy tones will dominate in 2019. Pale pink isn't going anywhere but there's also lots of terracotta, green and cream to set it all off. The key is warmth and richness."

NO.5. MIDNIGHT BLUE WALL PAINT

In 2019 expect to see a lot of Midnight Blue colours. We've heard that eggshell blue colours will also be on the rise too. But, we suspect that the darker blue and navy paint colours will win out.
"I've seen a move from black wall decor to dark blue shades. I particularly love the idea of pairing dark blues, like our Zeitgeist Paint with Golden tones such as French Ochre Paint. It reminds me of a beautiful sunset and has the added benefit of being incredibly easy to incorporate with most decor styles. A great bedroom or kitchen paint inspiration idea in my opinion."
