Pikes Hotel is one of the most famous or infamous hotels on Ibiza and developed a notorious reputation for hedonism in the 1980s. The hotel is associated with being a playground for the rich and famous and is best known for being the location of filming for Wham!'s 1983 hit "Club Tropicana" and for Freddie Mercury's 41st birthday bash in 1987.
Rockett St George have teamed up with Pikes Hotel to create an exclusive and unique range of products depicting the glamour and above all the fun that is associated with both RSG and Pikes.
This Limited Edition Pikes Hotel Wallpaper is a print depicting the life of owner and founder Tony Pike. Tony bought the hotel which, at the time was a little finca, with his partner Lyn and together with Tony's son's they renovated it in the fabulous hotel that it is tday. Bo Palk, the managing director of MGM Studios, checked into the hotel just as Tony was finishing the last bathroom and an acquaintance of Palk’s, Simon Napier-Bell, visited him at the hotel whilst scouting for a video shoot location and so Club Tropicana came about. From there the hotel grew and grew in popularity and has been cited as a legendary party hotel, with a celebrity guest list of some 500 people and up to 700 people in total which have included Julio Iglesias, Grace Jones, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Nigel Benn, Anthony Quinn, Bon Jovi, Boy George, Five Star, Tony Curtis, Robert Plant, Naomi Campbell, and Spandau Ballet.
Our exclusive wallpaper will enable you to create your very own Pikes Hotel atmosphere and add a piece if this legendary hotel and Tony's story in your home!
