On a recent visit to Marakesh I fell in love with the interiors, expecially the flooring. They decorate with such flair and creativity, I felt so inspired. The collection of handmade tiles remind me of my visit and it got me thinking about how many ways you can use these beautiful designs.
Obviously they look stunning used to cover a floor and will age beautifully creating a timeless look. Alternatively you can mix them up and create an eclectic mix (see example image). I love it when they are used on the upward surface of steps creating interest without overkill. Or finally just buy a few and scatter them around your house as ornaments, mats for plantpots or just to look beautiful. For indoor use only.
The tiles are handcrafted in cement. Cement tiles have an open surface and should therefore be sealed before use to avoid staining and discoloration. The tiles can e.g be saturated with a thick soap flake solution or other neutral acid free product. When using the tiles as decoration objects, we recommend sticky felt pads under each corner to avoid damaging surfaces. Suitable for bathroom use when sealed as directed above.
