“Art is what you can get away with.”Andy Warhol

Closing on the 16th of February now is the time to go and see the Andy Warhol Exhibition at The Halycon!

An American cultural icon, the artist is best known for initiating the Pop Art Cultural movement. Recognising that mass reproduction of images from modern life was not only emerging at speed but also inextricably linked to high art and consumer culture, Warhol is one of the most highly influential artists of the 20th century. Famous works include 'Eight Elvises', 'Marilyn Diptych', 'Mao' and 'Campbell's Soup Cans'.

So, if you fancy an afternoon of culture or love pop art then we highly recommend a visit to the Andy Warhol Exhibition one after. You could make a day of it even pair your visit to the exhibition with one of our top recommended bars and eateries below.

2. Ladies & Gentleman (@ladiesandgentlemanbar)

When it comes to great cafe's and restaurants a public bathroom is not the first place to comes to mind (or even the last). But hear us out. Ladies & Gentleman is a neighbourhood bar with a difference. With bars in Kentish Town, Kings Cross and most recently, Camden, the cocktail bar is hidden in an old disused Victorian Bathroom. Describing it as 'our number 2' the bar serves deliciously lethal cocktails including Diamonds in the rough (Woods Navy Rum, demerara rum, picon, cherry, Islay whiskey, blood orange) and Le French cliche (Claude Renoux Champagne, vermouth, green chartreuse, cucumber) to name but a few.

Where? 2 Highgate Rd, London, NW5 1NR

3. The Buxton (@thebuxtonlondon)

A rooftop pub with a hot tub?! Sign us up!

The first pub in London to have a Hot Tub on the Rooftop, The Buxton will be opening in Spring 2019 at the bottom of Brick Lane. Bought to us from the people behind the bar The Culpeper (featured in our July 2018 Hot List here), chill out with your alcoholic beverage of choice on the rooftop and then head down to the restaurant for dinner. Finish the evening with a stay in The Buxton's hotel rooms.

Where? 42 Osborn Street, London, E1 6TD

On at various locations in London, bring up to a maximum of 15 items that you can get a token for to exchange for another item of clothing. Even better, the event is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in one of the seven north London boroughs. So, if you are a member of the community in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest, then why not take this as an opportunity to have a good clear out? It's completely free to attend. Plus, you never know what treasured piece you'll walk away with! More details can be found here.
