Wahoooo, it's June!

June marks the start of summer, longer days and more sunshine (hopefully). So to, help you fully embrace the start of the summer we have a whole host of exciting things for you to do, see, gift and more! Umm hello..... could this be the festival of our foodie dreams?! Yes, we think so!

On at Brixton Jamm, treat yourself to Gin, Hip Chips and mini dips whilst enjoying music from live DJs and you could even take part in Gin making masterclass.

2.London Festival Of Architecture

Immerse yourself in some hot culture at the worlds biggest Architecture Festival.

Highlight include Cardboard Cities, an immersive workshop for kids at the V&A Childhood Museum, Architecture For A New Generation that will focus on the upcoming influences and voices in Architecture of the future, and The Kissing Gates a whimsical installation looking at boundaries between cities and countryside.

When? 1st - 30th of June.

3.West End Live

An annual London event that's great for the kids, the cast of some of the West Ends most loved musicals come to together for the weekend for a musical event that theatre lovers will adore! Featuring the cast of Aladdin, The Lion King, Magic Mike Live, The Phantom Of The Opera and more this free family fun event is live entertainment at its best. Aside from plenty of music to sing along to visitors can dine alfresco, take selfies with west end stars, shop stalls and of course enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of the event!

When? 22nd - 23rd of June 2019.

1. Coppa Club London

One of the most instagrammable restaurants in London, the glass igloos have had a summer makeover! With views of the River Thames and Central London, menu highlights include the Vegan Burger, Smoked Haddock Aranchini and the Roasted Leek and Feta Tart.

2. The Coach, Clerkenwell

An old fashioned pub with a garden that's perfect for alfresco dining don't be fooled by the relaxed pub-feel ... the menu is out of this world! Menu favourites include Gnocchi, purple kale, chilli and pecorino, Grilled oyster mushroom, wild oregano and lemon oil and the Steak Tartare.

3. Dalloway Terrace

Located in Belgravia, Dalloway Terrace has transformed itself with a Jungle Makeover. With a Jungle Themed Lunch and Afternoon Tea to choose from, our favourites include Cauliflower Steak, the Sri Lankan Curry and the Banana Leaf Sea Bass.

4. No 197 Chiswick Fire Station 

With a serene walled garden, a delectable menu of delicious delights and plenty of booze No 197

Menu favourites include the Slow Cooked Beef Taco, Mini Honey Sausages and the Smoked Aubergine Falafels! No 197 Chiswick Fire Station even has a brunch menu on weekends with our favourite being the Elderflower and Earl Grey Fizz Cocktail with the Breakfast Tacos! Yummy!

5. Sager + Wilde

With a restaurant that flows straight out onto the courtyard, enjoy the buzz of Sager + Wilde. The menu ranges from brunch, lunch and dinner and drinks. Must tries include the George The Cheese Merchant Cheese Board, the Beef Ragu and the Smoked Cods Roe. For drinks, make sure you try out the Walnut Martini or the Apple-Tea-Ni!

There's now a day for everything and so this month we thought we'd commemorate some of our favourite upcoming holidays. Because... who doesn't love an excuse to party?!

1. National Cheese Day - Tuesday 4th of June. 

Brie-inspired by National Cheese Day (sorry... we couldn't resist!). A great excuse to get the cheese boards out with a glass of merlot or 3, National Cheese Day has got to be on your calendar.

Cheese and wine nights are becoming quite the thing amongst millennials and in our opinion its a great opportunity for a mid-week booze up. So we have a few easy ideas for your Cheese and Wine Night:

1.CHEESE.... obvious first starter, so stock up on all your cheesy favourites including Cheddar, Brie, Camembert, Manchego, Parmigiano-Reggiano to name but a few. The more cheese the better!

2.Cheese Boards. Beautiful Breadboards are perfect for creating a delicious display that your guests will love. Our Natural Acacia Round Chopping Board, Small Marble Effect Bread Board and the Ink Dipped Mango Wood Chopping / Bread Board - Large would all make great serving boards.

2.World Gin Day - Saturday 8th of June

Shake and stir your favourite gin-tastic concoctions to celebrate World Gin Day! Quite possibly one of our favourite days of the year, we've come up with our favourite Gin cocktail recipe for you to try at home. The perfect excuse to host a garden party, don't you think?!

Summer Cup - Recipe on page 136 of the book - Gin Made Me Do It, available to purchase at Rockett St George.

You Will Need:

700ml of London Dry Gin

700ml of Sweet Vermouth

375ml of Triple Sec

2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar

6 dashes of Angostura bitters

Ginger Beer to top up.

To prepare:

Mix the ingredients together in a large jug and chill in the fridge. When you are ready to serve fill gin glasses with ice and a few lemon slices and et viola... a lovely cup of Summer Gin!

3. Upcycling Day - 24th of June

Who doesn't love an excuse to get creative?! Monday the 24th of June is Upcycling Day, a great opportunity to give unloved furniture and home accessories a new lease of life! From upcycling your cabinets with wallpaper to upcycling old pallets into furniture, planters and more there are so many creative things that you can do.
