Easter weekend is a great excuse to get your friends and family around to enjoy a meal.
Part of creating a welcoming and fun Easter lays in the design. Even small details with an easter-twist can add a sense of fun and enjoyment to the occasion. Of course, at Rockett St George we are always up for a styling challenge and so we have come up with our Top 5 Ideas for creating a magical Easter Table Setting. Keep on reading to discover more.
EASTER TABLE IDEA NO.1. - TEXTURAL ADORNMENTS
Whether you are dining al fresco or indoors, set the foundations and adorn your space with beautiful tablecloths or placemats, rugs on the floors or backs of chairs and cosy cushions too.
These textures are the backdrop for your tablescape and are great for setting a theme for your table display. For example, to create an Easter tablescape that the kids and adults alike will love, opt for a pretty pink linen tablecloth. The crisp and fresh pink is emotive of spring and new beginnings, whilst the linen material is set firmly in tradition.
NO.2. - EASTER CENTREPIECE
Build your table from the centre outwards.
Starting with your centrepiece to layer your table with textures, patterns and objects of varying heights to create drama and interest. It’s a well-established interior design trick that will create an instant focal point on your table.
If you are short on space then why not hang your centrepiece over your table instead? A floral hanging centrepiece or hanging lantern looks so incredibly impactful and will certainly create a sense of occassion.
NO.3. - BE CREATIVE AND QUIRKY
Express yourself! Great interior design is always down to plenty of personality, creativity and imagination.
So, don’t be afraid to express yourself in your home. For a table setting, we’d recommend adding a quirky decorative ornament or display piece the makes you smile. We particularly love animal vases such as our Cute Cheetah Vase, Beautiful Bear Vase or Alice In Wonderland 'Rabbit' Bust Plant Holder filled with greenery as they will really stand out on your table display.
For an easter table, take it one step further and buy some fresh spring flowers, such as daffodils, and fill your vases with the beautiful florals. The fresh spring scents will help to set the scene. Then stack Lazy Rabbit Cake Plates and fill our White Pekin Ducks Plant Pot Vase with easter eggs for an extra special display.
NO.4. - GREAT LIGHTING
Great lighting with set the tone for the Easter meal, so it's important to consider what light sources you want to use when decorating your table.
In our opinion, candlelight is queen for creating a warm, intimate and glowing space. The flickering light is like a real-life filter, so get your hands on lots of different sized and shaped candles, such as scented candles, pillar candles and dinner candles. To add an extra layer of depth and interest to your Easter table display, beautiful tealights and quirky candleholders will add that extra magic to the table. We think that our new Ceramic & Brass Cockatoo Candle Holder, the Gold Octopus Candlestick Holder and the Antique Bronze Effect Ram Candlestick Holder would make particularly great choices.
Another great option is a stunning chandelier. Our co-founder Jane Rockett, has an incredible Ornate Candle Chandelier hanging over her dining table which looks particularly spectacular at night. Chandeliers, such as the Angelus Shadow Black Wire Chandelier, Tropical Palm Leaf Chandelier and the White Wooden Beaded Waterfall Chandelier would also look great too.
Finally, an easier option would be to string some fairy lights around your centrepiece or weave the chain down the centre of the table. It's a particularly special touch that your guests will love.
We have lots more tips on how to choosing the right lighting in our blog - How To Choose The Right Lighting For Your Home.
