Sushi Samba Anyone?!

Opening their latest restaurant in Covent Garden, Sushi Samba, is our favourite new place to get delicious Japenese Cuisine.

With interiors that will make your jaw drop the stunning restaurant is an eclectic mix of traditional Japenese design, the large terrace restaurant overlooks Covent Garden Piazza. Expect to have all your senses engaged with the incredible orange tree sculptures, living ceilings, giant wall mural that depicts Japanese mythology and dramatic monochrome tiled floor. An incredibly rich and elegant interior we think that Sushi Samba in Covent Garden will be an Instagram favourite!

On the menu, Sushi Samba serves up a number of delectable dishes that are Japenese, Peruvian and Brasilian inspired. Top recommendations include the Shrimp Tempura, Mushroom Tobanyaki, Tiger Maki Samba Rolls and the Raw Tuna. YUM YUM! With a range of dishes for vegetarians and vegans this is a restaurant that will cater to all. Of course, a good meal out should always involve cocktails and so we highly recommend taste testing their Cafe Millonario Cocktail. A blend of coffee-washed dark Bacardi Carta Negra shaken with Tonka bean infused maple syrup, dark chocolate and the obligatory espresso shot, this is an outrageously lethal cocktail that will blow your socks off! Great if you're heading out for a night "out-out" in London!

Back in the early days of Rockett St George when Instagram was just beginning, we used to run a competition called 'Foto Friday'.

The competition would ask you, our lovely customers to share styled images of your home and our winners would win a prize each week. Recently, Jane Rockett was interviewed in Dee Campling and Lisa Dawson's podcast (you can listen to the podcast here) and Lisa mentioned that she was a winner of one of our Foto Friday Competitions! So it got Jane thinking... we should bring back Foto Friday, with a twist!

We love the amazing interior inspiration of your homes that you share with us each month and so we wanted to celebrate this with a NEW monthly Instagram and Facebook competition. Each month we will set a theme in our Hot List for you to post your favourite styled interiors shot, along with the tags and #rockettstgeorge to enter.

The winner will be announced on Instagram and Facebook on the last Friday of every month and will win a £50 E-Voucher to spend at Rockett St George!

So, without further ado, for this month's theme is PINK INTERIORS. Share with us your pink interiors or pop of pink accessories with the tag and #rockettstgeorge for your chance to win.

We can't wait to see all of your fabulous posts! Good Luck!

Switch off your lights on March 30th for earth hour to spread global awareness about climate change.

A WWF scheme the initiative involves switching off the lights in your home for 1 hour at 8:30 pm on Saturday the 30th of March 19, just before the clocks spring forward an hour on the 31st of March. So, why not create an event of it?! You could host a candlelit dinner for you and your family or friends or simply turn off the lights in your home for an hour to raise awareness. Don't forget to show your support on social media using #Connect2Earth and #rockettstgeorge and we will repost our favourites!

What's more, f you'd like to take it a little further and do your bit for the Earth, here are a few suggested ideas to be more eco-friendly in 2019.

-Single-use sucks. Invest in a beautiful coffee travel mug and glass or metal straws instead. It will prevent unnecessary waste to the environment and are nicer to drink from too. We have some lovely Glass Drinking Straws and Travel Mugs at Rockett St George if it's of interest.

-Turn off your lights and switch off your plugs. If you're not using a room or an electrical device then save energy and money and turn off your lights. Jane Rockett recently started switching off her wifi at night and it really helped with her sleep, not forgetting the fact that it saves valuable energy.

-Buy Recycled Products. We have just expanded our range of recycled products at Rockett St George and have a number of really lovely Recycled Drinking Glasses, Jars, Ceiling Lights and Table Lights that will look beautiful in your home without damaging the environment.

-Embrace Natural Cleaning Products. Better for the environment and your families health consider using more natural cleaning products like vinegar, lemon and bicarbonate of soda.

-Buy Bamboo. Did you know that bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world?! Bamboo lighting and furniture look great and add a natural organic feel to your home interiors and have a less harmful effect on the environment. A win-win in our opinion. We have a lovely selection of Bamboo products at Rockett St George including a Bamboo Display Cabinet, Bamboo Bench Chair, Bamboo Shelving and more.

Women of the World Festival is back on this March.

In its 9th year, Women of The World Festival celebrates women and girls across the globe. This year, the festival coincides with International Women's Day running from Friday the 8th to Saturday the 9th of March.

With a line-up of talks, events and workshops this is an empowering few days to enjoy with your daughters, mothers, grandmothers and friends. Highlights include Jo Brand's Born Lippy: How To Do Female show, author Naomi Klien's 'In Conversation' Talk and The Women On The Move Awards 2019.

Rockett St George was founded by two women and so this fantastic celebration of women is close to our hearts. A definite must-visit for everyone!
