A GENIUS combo of food, booze and Frida Kahlo amazingness, what better way to spend your August weekends than indulging in beautifully bright Mexican brunch?!
Hosted by Leicester Square Kitchen, the concept was to celebrate the exhibition at the V&A (check out our April Hot List for more details) with food and booze - how brilliant is that?! Bringing the sounds and colours of Mexico to their weekend Brunch Menu, indulge the senses and your stomachs with exquisite small plates including Sea bass ceviche with avocado, white corn and red onion, Shredded crab with spicy ginger mayo tostada and Avocado corn salad with blackberry dressing … yum, f**king yum!
Once you’ve tucked into one or two or three small plates, treat yourself to one of the divine dishes on the Josper Grill and Robata menu and then polish it off with out-of-this-world desert, including Lima Sensación and Frescura de Mango. Of course, we haven’t forgotten the ‘Bottomless’ part of the brunch and let us tell you there is plenty of bubbly to go around! Stock up on cocktails, free-flowing prosecco or champagne and for Fridalicious day of fun!
A super fun and unique summer activity to get involved with, we recommend pairing this activity with a visit to the amazing Frida Kahlo exhibition … just maybe visit the exhibition before the boozy brunch! ?

Schoolsssss out for Summer!
The kids are off from school and enjoying these sizzling hot summer days. With 6 weeks off, it can sometimes be hard to think of entertaining ideas and activities for the kids to get involved with. So to help you make the most of the summer holidays, we've come up with some FUN ideas for all of the family...
A really great creative activity for the kids to get involved with this Summer, the Royal Photographic Society & Nikon are offering a Free Kids Competition called 'The Alternative Selfie'. Encouraging kids ages 7 - 11 & 12 - 15 to capture a series of images that go beyond the standard 'selfie'. The aim is for kids to explore identity and the self, expressing who they are through a photographic story made up of 3 – 5 images. The goal is to get kids to express themselves through their style, hobbies, music- whatever it is that makes them, themselves.
Immerse your kids in cultural and creative activities at The Southbank Centre. Over the summer, The Southbank Centre is hosting a variety of activities and events including Monstersaurus (an energetic show full of thrills, spills, magic and mayhem), How to Catch a Star (based on the beloved book by award-winning Irish author Oliver Jeffers, this adaptation combines puppetry and a magical original score) and Circus 250 Weekend (a weekend of free workshops and performances, part of the national celebrations of 250 years of circus).
With such hot Mediterranean days, there is no better time than this summer to enjoy a little staycation! In the UK we are treated to the most amazing coastlines and beaches, so make the most of them and plan a free family day out to the seaside! Some of our most beautiful beaches include Polzeath, Cornwall / Blackpool Sands / Studland Bay, Dorset / West Wittering, Sussex and Marloes Sands, Pembrokeshire.
Other Summer Holiday Activities include: Royal Society of Sculptors - Family Art Workshops | Ice Cream Sundae Building at Fortnum & Mason |Edinburgh International Book Festival | Bee in the City Weekender | Dragon Slayer At Warwick Castle |
Contemporary and sculpture installation artist, Lee Bul has taken over the Hayward Gallery at The Southbank Centre and transformed it into a spectacular exhibition featuring monstrous bodies, bodies, futuristic cyborgs, glittering mirrored environments and an exquisitely surreal monumental foil Zeppelin.
Born in South Korea in 1964 to leftist parents, Lee Bul spent most of her childhood fleeing persecution and her art and sculpture work was initially a creative relief from this pain. To this day Lee Bul has had many major exhibitions across the world and her latest exhibition at The Hayword Gallery will bring together more than 100 works from the late 80s to present day. Exploring Lee Bul's pioneering and thought-provoking practice, from provocative early performances to recent large-scale installations that attempt to get our body and our brain ‘working at the same time, together’, the exhibition is a brilliantly immersive experience.
