THE APRIL HOT LIST 2018

Hoorayyy - it's springtime!

It's official, we've made it through the winter and spring has sprung... finally! April is the start of so many good things including easter holiday fun, a cheeky bank holiday weekend, the start of light evenings, plenty of chocolate eggs to get your hands on and the release of the Rockett St George Spring Summer Collection! With so much on, April is set to be a great month ahead and so we've rounded up the top exhibitions and festivals to book tickets for, highlighted easter holiday activities for the kids, reviewed a new food hall opening in Hackney, listed our top podcasts to listen to and more! Even better, we've teamed up with Pavillion books to offer you the chance to WIN 1 of 5 Mad About The House books by the talented blogger and journalist, Kate Watson-Smyth... how great is that?!

Have a wonderful month!

Jane, Lucy and the RSG Team x

That's right... after the success of our book, Extraordinary Interiors, we've made an album about homewares, furniture and home accessories! From songs about our favourite bar stools to our large furniture and fragile pieces delivery .... when you can't get enough of something you love, it only makes sense to sing a song about it!

APRIL FOOLS!!! Did you fall for it?

The fabulous Kate Watson-Smyth of the interior design blog, Mad About The House, has written her second book... YAY! Blogger, journalist and all round interiors expert, Kate has written a book which is dedicated to decorating your home with style. A gorgeous nude pink coffee table book featuring the Rockett St George Palm Tree Floor Light on the cover (how cool is that?!) this beautiful book will show you how to create a home that tells a story.

With practical styling tips and incredibly handy checklists throughout the book, such as what to do about your entertainment system, how to buy a rug, how to choose the right mattress and our particular favourite… how to work colour into your decor (if you are a colour phobe when it comes to your interiors then this is a godsend!), Kate’s friendly and down-to-earth advice will leave you full of inspiration and is suitable for everyone, no matter what your decorating budget is.

A special thank you to Kate for mentioning RSG in the acknowledgements of the book! We are over the moon to be included…

"Jane Rockett and Lucy St George, whose gorgeous lamp adorns both the cover of this book and my sitting room". "...a 6ft brass lamp in the shape of a palm tree. I still don't know how I got it past my husband, but I love it every single day and it looks perfect with the dark grey walls and splashes of pink that accessorise my sitting room. That's the wow factor in that room, the element that pulls it all together and gives the space its personality. Without that lamp it's a tasteful, well put-together room. With the lamp, it's fun and witty and cool."

Let's get buzzing ... on booze and caffeine!

If there's one thing that we all have in common at RSG aside from our love of interior design, it's our love of Espresso Martinis! A heavenly combination of vodka and coffee we've been known to have one, two or three too many of these bad boy concoctions. So when we heard that an Espresso Martini Party was coming to London, well we just had to sign-up!

Part of The London Coffee Festival from the 12th to 15th of April, The Espresso Martini Party will feature great music from live DJ sets and our favourite boozy and caffeinated beverage. With a choice between the classic Espresso Martini or The Bailey's Flat White Martini - one thing is guaranteed - you'll be up all night! But if you prefer a more civilized affair, then make sure you check out the festival during the day. With live Latte Art shows, Home Barista Workshops, Coffee Art Projects and more the coffee festival is a creative and fun event perfect for those of us who can't start the day without a coffee!
