A Moroccan medina in the heart of London, experience a little bit of the exotic at Queen of Hoxton! Inspired by the Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech the Moroccan Medina is an escape from the urban jungle into Moroccan paradise!
Step into the Queen of Hoxton's wigwam on the rooftop terrace and transform yourself to a faraway land. Sit on embellished pouffes under the warming glow of lanterns and sip on boozy cocktails including Espresso Martini's and Casablancan Mint Tea and feast upon Hallumi fries and shawarma chicken wraps for a super cosy winter vibe. Documenting and celebrating the 'Swinging Sixties', the late photographer Brian Duffy who shot the likes of David Bowie, John Lennon, Michael Caine and many more famous faces will have his photographs displayed at the Proud Central Exhibition.
Having worked for many famous publications including Vogue and The Sunday Times, the exhibition will celebrate the bold appearances that defined London at the time. The exhibition will explore themes such as 1960s feminity, the depiction of 'The Single Girl' and Duffy's challenge of the 'Traditional Portrait', with often comical and playful commercial shot of actors, models, politicians and public figures.
On from the 2nd of February until the 18th of March, the Sixties Style Exhibition is a must for all photography lovers and would make an equally brilliant alternative date night idea for Valentines Day!
