Lets Break it Down...

There are lots of questions to ask yourself when hosting your Christmas lunch (apart from WHY!) - Do you have enough chairs? Is your table big enough? Do you have enough cutlery? Are your glasses chip-free? Our Top 10 Tips will help you to plan your own fabulous dinner party in style.

Top Tip No. 1 - Create a Centrepiece.

Creating a focal point for your Christmas table is a must! For a stunning tablescape, go for something bold like a glorious faux plant, a handmade wreath (check out our recent wreath making blog) or a cluster of candles, with eye-catching candle holders! The key is to create different heights and use an odd number of items - 3 candlesticks always look better than two.

Snake a glorious glitter berry garland down the middle of your table and embellish with a variety of quirky candlesticks and foliage. We like to use faux so that it lasts a little longer, and these faux mini Christmas trees are super-cute and come with their own pot for a mess-free, ready-made display. Twinkling fairy lights will make the whole thing come to life, especially after dark.

Candles set the mood, and let's face it - we all look better by candlelight, right? Think dark and moody for an intimate, festive table setting and pair with Glorious Tealight Holders or our Claw Feet Candlesticks for a gothic look. For a creative twist, try out the star candle holders which pop into your empty wine bottles and look great!

Top Tip No.2: Mix it up ... Placemats and Coasters

Placemats and coasters are the foundation to your Christmas table and add a subtle extra touch. We like to magnify the subtle touches with emphasis on the little details. Try beautiful Rose Gold Mirror Placemats and cheeky 'Cheers Bitches' coasters, to add a little Christmas-sass to your table!

Top Tip No.3: Beautiful Tableware and Glasses

It's the time of year when the fancy dinner sets make a special festive appearance. If you're lacking lustre and want something new, then check out our Ombre Ceramic plates. They will add glamour and party glitz to the table. Cutlery tends to be on the bottom of our to-buy lists. But it's the finishing touches that really make your festive table setting that little more WOW! This year be brave and opt for black or rose copper cutlery to transform your Christmas table into something extraordinary!

Do you have enough glasses to go around? It feels more special to sip your champers from a pretty saucer or flute. The etched wine goblets add a little charm and look gorgeous as a set when serving drinks. Lay the table with matching water glasses and serve dessert in super-stylish cut-glass dessert bowls for a sophisticated look.

Top Tip No.4: Accessorise!

Accessories should embellish and complement your theme. It should be the finishing touch that really draws the eye. Think glitter, feathers, pine cones, clip-on birds and holly leaves to dazzle your guests! Napkins, crackers and gift tags also add a little feature to your table - We love a glitzy napkin!

What would a Christmas table be without crackers? We prefer crackers that are a little more sophisticated, rather than the garish crackers that you often find in the supermarket. Fill a gold champagne bucket with crackers in the centre of the table for a trendy centrepiece or place on your dinner plates for a cool and understated look. Along with the classic party hat and joke, these Diamond Glitter Crackers are filled with cute little wine charms so really add something different for your guests to enjoy.

Tip No.5: A Final note...

Greenery adds texture and vitality to a room, and that is why we think it's a Christmas table MUST! Why not weave faux ivy through your dining chairs or fill vases with festive plants? While you're there - make sure you have enough chairs to seat your guests in style! The gorgeous Williamsburg Metal Crossback Dining Chairs (pictured below) are edgy but comfortable and look fabulous draped with a cosy sheepskin!
