There's so much to love about AUGUST...
Alfresco dining and boozing til late is just two of the many things we love about August. There's the empty roads in the morning with the absence of school traffic, exciting pop-up beach bars, sea-swimming, long warm evenings and a breather from current politics!
It's time to enjoy and soak up every little bit of Vitamin D we get this year, and join in with the exciting build up of the Olympics and plan your next stay-cation or trip away. As ever, we have cherry-picked some of the best things to see and do throughout the month and have lined up a great competition for THREE lucky pairs to win tickets for an open-air cinema experience!
Have a great August and join the conversation by letting us know what you'll be getting up to via Instagram and Facebook by tagging us in your photos (@rockettstgeorge).

This month's EAT recommendation comes from the lovely Chloe who has just joined us in the Marketing team! Chloe recently discovered Last Days of Shoreditch - a relaxed and fun street food, art, music, dancing, drink and crazy golf location in Red Market, London.
Guaranteed to be the best £5 entry fee you've ever paid - Chloe recommends the Chip and Halloumi Wrap by Greek Fushion stall Yiro, washed down with one of the local London beers found at the bar... Other food stalls include delicious pulled duck burgers, Mexican tacos and carnitas, mouth watering pizza frittas and awesome burgers by We Serve Humans. The bar is also fully loaded with cocktails, wine and spirits - all very reasonably priced too. Then it can all go Pete Tong on the mezzanine level with a 9-hole Crazy Junkyard Golf course!
Opens 17.00-00.00 every Thursday, 17.00-00.30 every Friday and 18.00-00.30 every Saturday, until 27th August. £5 entry, tickets available in advance or on the door.
Inspired by the novel 'The Man Who Fell to the Earth' by Walter Tevis, Lazarus is one of the very last works completed by the late and great David Bowie. With music and lyrics composed by Bowie, including 3 unreleased tacks, the musical was first performed at the end of 2015 and is now coming to London after it's sell-out success on Broadway. The show won't arrive until October 25th at the Kings Cross Theatre, but we're mentioning it now as tickets are on sale and selling FAST! The premium tickets are a little pricey (£150 each!) but we bet it will be money well-spent and a chance to see something fabulous by one of the greatest men that ever lived.
The show is 2 hours long with no interval and has been described a 'Wild, Fantastical, Eye-Popping Surrealistic Tour De Force' by Rolling Stone Magazine. Not to be missed!
Kings Cross Theatre, 25 October - 22 January 2017. Tickets are available online, starting from £15.00.
As self-confessed photography buffs, we always get excited about new and recent exhibitions happening in London. When you're in need of a little bit of inspiration, escapism or pure entertainment; photography lets us see things from a new perspective and captures great moments in time.
American photographer William Eggleston is renowned for his iconic, vivid, poetic and mysterious images. If you find yourself hanging out near by The National Portrait Gallery this Summer make sure you swing by and take a look at over 100 of Eggleston's best work, including some never-seen before vintage black and white prints from the 60's. It won't disappoint.
Ends 23rd October 2016. Tickets available in advance online or from the gallery.
If you want to see something out-of-the-ordinary and fancy bombarding your eyes with fantastic amounts of colour - then a visit to The House of Dreams should be on your Summer to-do list. Jam-packed with found items, Artist Stephen Wright has turned the ground floor of his home in East Dulwich into an outsider art museum.
Crammed with dolls heads, paintings, textiles and many weird and wonderful items, the space invites you to explore forgotten and once unloved possessions which Wright has cleverly curated into a maximalist collection of curiosity.
45 Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich. London, SE22 8RG. For opening times please see website.
We were in need of a new drinking den... And have found something totally thrilling!
When you're required to walk through a Smeg Fridge door to get there - you know it's going to be fun. Situated beneath The Breakfast Club in Spitalfields, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town London is our new favourite speakeasy bar and drinking den. Great cocktails and music, exposed brick walls and dimly-lit industrial-meets-vintage style furniture... We feel right at home here!
Try the Purple Rain cocktail and instagram the hell outta the awesome interiors (and don't forget to tell us by tagging @rockettstgeorge).
Open 7 days a week, for times see website. 12-16 Artillery Lane, E1 7LS. 020 7078 9639.
