Feeling blue? Great, so are we!

Recently we took the leap (away from dramatic darks) and went completely cyan-crazy for the Rockett St George SS16 Catalogue. The beautiful blue hued backdrop (we think it’s like a glowing azure sky) totally reflects the Californian Cowboy Chic of the season, and we're lusting after everything that gives off this vibe. We love how the colour transforms a well-known interior style into something new.

Narrowing down our favourite sapphire, navy and cerulean toned spaces via Pinterest, here's our lowdown of the best of the brilliant blues...

This living room has it all. Leather seating, sheepskin rugs, a cleverly crooked picture wall and a statement rocking chair we'd happily grow old with. Not to mention that the oversized paintings and exposed bulbs are totally inspired, can you not see yourself reclining on that sofa, twiddling the phone cable whilst painting your toe nails to match the walls? We can. The walls and flooring create a calming capsule of blue cosyness. We'd love to relax here after a long day with a collection of magazines.

Black window frames (tick), chunky wooden breadboards and chalk (tick), vintage workshop desk (tick), wooden-topped stool and gorgeous statement metal shade (check mate!). The rustic textures of these items can be seen in a contemporary light thanks to the admiral blue wall. The room is dark but joyful because of that natural light spilling in, and think this look would be effortlessly cool for a kitchen.

This space is lovely and laid back. Black rattan chairs scream boho chic, the religious iconography brings a seriously serene feel and those fabulous monkey lights injects some fun and quirk. You can never say no to a leafy green, and the chalky muted mural feels very 'mother earth'. We like the softness of the scene but LOVE the creativity that has clearly gone into choosing each item.

This palette from Abigail Ahern has a profound effect on the senses - everything on display feels grander, cooler, larger, more intense. It’s a glamorous, sophisticated and intriguing collection made from mostly natural pigments so the colours give incredible depth - you get beautiful undertones with the colours subtly changing with the light. Choose from Bowery or Rivington Blue.

Next up are the astounding Scrapwood Wallpapers from Piet Hein Eek. Super realistic and easily applied, the look and feel of this paper is truly magnificent. Choose from the distressed tones of PHM-36 Blue and Scrapwood Wallpaper 2 - PHE12.
