Let's face it, we all love a sneak peak into other people's homes. We have centered a few of our Get The Look posts around famous interiors, so it's about time we let you into one of our own. Welcome to the heart of RSG itself: the stunning London home of founder and co-director Lucy St George...
Before Rockett St George began, Lucy and Jane would spend hours rummaging through car boot sales, antique stores and flea markets to find unusual and quirky items for their own homes. When it comes to interiors we strive to create inviting spaces that sing with individuality and bespoke finds - which is exactly what Lucy has succeeded in doing!
Lucy's house is not only unique in general terms, it's also unique by Rockett St George standards. Each room has been inspired by and filled with our beautiful RSG items items, but is also enhanced by a collection of amazing one of a kind vintage finds.
The classic Eames chairs work beautifully with the reclaimed bus seating and railway mirror - a perfect combo of trustworthy high end design and hard-wearing industrial style. Her dining space is updated by not only the fresh green houseplants, but the striking graphics of the picture wall add a modernised edge. The area is totally tranquil and a beautiful setting for dinner parties when those candles are lit... We have to mention the classic white vintage table - we also have one in the office!
Where to begin? Lucy has created the perfect fireplace style spot. The yellow and tan tones of the living room bring out the beautiful blue paintwork which picks up the light - the room doesn't feel dark at all. The Chanel mirror was a fabulous flea market find, the distressed metal 'L' is one of our famous fairground lights and the other items are made up of ex-RSG treasures!
Accent lighting on the wall illuminates the eclectic collection of artwork, softly bringing them to attention but without taking the spotlight from the drinks cabinet and ensuring the room has layers of personality.
This is the perfect example of how to make the most of an open plan space. This is a leafy zen zone in an area that could easily become sparse. However, the tall plants bring the outside in, working in perfect harmony with the view through the window. The cowhide and sheepskins add soft natural textures to the geometric and bright plant pots - the perfect relaxation spot for a g & t!
The zebrahead (faux!) ties all the decor together in statement that boldly celebrates the wildness of the space with a nod to the monochrome in the dining area and kitchen close by. This one large area has been sectioned into three distinctive spaces that are totally different but all work beautifully together.
A combo of symmetry and off numbers are essential rules for display. This cabinet cleverly takes up the length of wall at the end of a corridor that would otherwise a blank space. Lucy's display cabinet balances textures, tones and mini stories in a way that isn't over-staged nor messy. Personality is key, and these shelves are bursting with it! Don't be afraid to let it all hang out... your home is a bit of you and it's important to appreciate your treasures!
