About The Archive Wallpaper - Pimpernel - 2 Colours Available

Designed by Morris & CO., the Archive Wallpaper in the Pimpernel Collection is available as a sample or roll in 2 colour options, Privet & Slate and Bay Leaf & Manilla. Originally designed by William Morris in 1876, the Pimpernel collection showcases a near symmetrical design of the beautiful pimpernel flower against a rhythmic backdrop of intertwining tendrils. Showcasing a truly dynamic painterly effect, this designer wallpaper exudes dramatic vigour of oversized flower heads creating a compelling three-dimensional aesthetic. The complex pattern measures 45.5cm x 52cm and then repeats. The roll length measures 10.05 metres.

Why We Think You’ll Love The William Morris Pimpernel Wallpaper

Beloved for their traditional designs, impressively embellished patterns and captivating scenes of nature, Morris & Co have effortlessly proved that the bold vision of designs from the 19th century company are still highly influential in interior design today. Offering the appearance of a traditional tapestry, this print combines a detailed, complex structure with robust, feminine colourways giving you a divine mix of bold designs with a calming feeling. This high quality wallpaper is an expression of the creator’s adoration for nature and overall bucolic harmony, and this same feeling will permeate through your home inducing a feeling of serenity and showstopping style, so what’s not to love?!

Where To Style The Floral Wallpaper

This high quality wallpaper is for lovers of a traditional yet maximalist interior scheme. Perfect for an entire room or even a statement feature wall in your home, William Morris himself decorated his dining room in Kelmscott House in London with this beautiful print. This pimpernel wallpaper would also bode well in a living room scheme paired with traditional furniture which will offer your interior a timeless yet stylish aesthetic.

RSG Top Tip: Wallpaper is not just for walls! Consider lining your wardrobes and drawers, creating DIY wall art, upcycling your furniture or even using your leftover wallpaper strips as gift wrap, the more creative you can be, the better!

Application & Maintenance

Be sure to prepare your surface properly before applying the wallpaper. Make sure the walls are clean and smooth and if you're wallpapering onto wood or plasterboard, make sure you have primed the surface first. If your walls have any issues or staining you may want to use lining paper underneath your wallpaper to give a better final result. Make sure to use a new sharp blade when cutting the wallpaper to fit it to the desired wall. Be sure to add adhesive to the edges of your wallpaper when applying to prevent loose or curling ends. Once the adhesive is applied and wallpaper is secured, smooth out the print by using firm dragging motions towards the edges of the paper to avoid bubbles. To avoid unsightly streaks in your finish, be sure to rinse off the walls with a cloth in the seams after hanging. We recommend always following the manufacturer’s instructions.
