Babies are such a nice way to start people. Children reinvent your world for you. Having a child is surely the most beautifully irrational act that two people in love can commit. There are three reasons for breast-feeding; the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can't get it. Babies are always more trouble than you thought...and always more wonderful. A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for. A baby is a loud noise at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. The worst feature of a new baby is its mother's singing.  Even when freshly washed and relieved of all obvious confections, children tend to be sticky. A crying baby is the best form of birth control. People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one. Making the decision to have a baby - it's momentous, It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.

As the base for the artwork we have chosen a natural limestone with a warm, creamy colour and soft white undertones. This has been given a tumbled finish (this is a process by which stone is tumbled or vibrated with smaller abrasives to produce an aged appearance) which results in a rough and pitted surface with broken, rounded edges and corners.

The stone tablet is then overprinted with distressed typography, which follows the contours of the pitted stone to give a lovely touchy-feely piece of artwork.

Available Framed or Unframed
The stone tablet can be purchased unframed and looks great leaning on a bookcase or mantle, or it can be framed to hang on a wall.

The frame is handmade using reclaimed antique Victorian roof timbers. We purposefully retain any defects in the timber to add to the charm and character of the piece. These can include knot holes, nail holes, warps and water marks, so each frame is totally unique.
